The Friends of the Musketawa Trail board had a major change at the beginning of this year. Longtime board president, Ed Holovka stepped down at the end of 2016 after 21+ years of leadership. Ed guided the board during the early stages of the Musketawa Trail development, through construction and renovation of railroad trestles (into trail bridges), construction of scenic outlooks and through many enhancement projects such as tree plantings and railroad memorabilia.
Ed continues to help the board and the Musketawa Trail in his role as “Ex-Officio”. He, along with his wife Diana, put together the Friends group newsletters that come out twice a year. Also, Ed continues to provide written responses to the physical letters we receive. Ed freely shares his wisdom and skills at board meetings and he plans on being at future projects as he sees fit. The Friends of the Musketawa Trail board would like to thank Ed for his many years of hard work and dedicated service.
The Friends of the Musketawa Trail board elected Tim Nink (previous board vice-president) to succeed Ed as president with Gary DeKock now serving as vice president.
